Talk at Ølstykke Library – September 2026
In September, Anders Ibsen will give a lecture at Ølstykke Library about SIRIUS – Det, som overfalder dig, the authorship and the path from Sled Patrol Sirius to a thriller. About the event
The final author event of the spring at Jægerspris Library was a sold-out evening focused on thrillers, Greenland, and the story behind the story.
Drawing on SIRIUS – Det, som overfalder dig, Anders Ibsen spoke about his journey from Mestersvig and the Sirius Dog Sled Patrol to writing his debut novel. The audience gained insight into the experiences that helped shape the book's universe and the process of turning real-life experiences into fiction.
The conversation also touched on Anders’ work as an author, the research behind the novel, and a challenge familiar to many writers: writing the difficult second book. How do you follow up a successful debut when readers’ expectations continue to grow?
One of the things Anders enjoys most about these events is meeting readers and hearing their questions. At Jægerspris Library, the audience was highly engaged, and several questions sparked thoughts that Anders had not necessarily considered himself.
Among the questions were:
Shouldn't Salma be punished for everything she has done?
Will David and Salma fall in love?
Will David and Salma return to Greenland in the sequel?
The answers will have to wait a little longer. Hopefully, more will be revealed when the next book in the SIRIUS series is published in 2027.
The evening concluded with conversations, book signings, and the opportunity to meet both new and longtime readers.
